Christopher Romano

Christopher leads the Division of Enrollment Management, including the offices of admissions, advising and first-year experience, career services, financial aid, marketing and web administration, athletics, residence life, the Educational Opportunity Fund, public safety, and the division of student affairs. Christopher chairs the Strategic Enrollment Management Planning Committee. He serves as a member of the president’s cabinet as well as other administrative bodies to ensure that institutional conversations and decisions consider the impact not only on incoming student enrollment, but also on the way those decisions impact the perception, experience, and ultimate success of current students. Previously, Christopher has served as the associate vice president of enrollment management and as the special assistant to the president of Ramapo College. Christopher earned his bachelor’s degree in international relations from Saint Joseph’s University (PA) and a master’s in higher education administration from Harvard University. Dr. Rebecca Frazee

In addition to her current role at San Diego State University, Rebecca is also a consultant and coach in learning and performance improvement technologies. She has conducted research and published articles on e-coaching, blended learning, technology adoption, and engaging online learners. She has extensive experience providing instruction and coaching to learning professionals worldwide, both face-to-face and completely online. Rebecca is also a part of the FLEXspace Core Team, helping to push the adoption and continuous improvement of the FLEXspace tool and community.

Nancy Truesdell

Nancy has over thirty-five years of experience in higher education administration. She has spent more than twenty of those years serving Lawrence University in a variety of roles including director of the Career Center and associate dean of students before becoming dean of students and vice president. Nancy works with senior leadership to ensure a positive living and learning experience for Lawrence students as they make the transition from high school to college, navigate the ups and downs of daily college life, and develop the intellect and skills to successfully move on to life after college. Nancy oversees departments and staff in residential life, campus activities, health and wellness, volunteer and community service, multicultural affairs, international student services, the Warch Campus Center, dining services, and career services. In her years at Lawrence University Nancy co-chaired a two-year task force on campus life, and she was actively involved in design and planning for construction of Lawrence’s largest residence hall as well as the Warch Campus Center, a dynamic and transformative facility that provides a focus for student life and a crossroads for the campus and local community.

Rufus Glasper, Ph.D., CPA, CGFM

Dr. Glasper has served as chancellor since 2003 and previously held district leadership positions for more than two decades. As chancellor, Dr. Glasper is the chief executive officer of the ten-college district known commonly as the Maricopa Community Colleges, overseeing all educational and administrative operations. Dr. Glasper served from 2009-2012 as the committee co-chair for the Lumina Foundation on education’s “Getting AHEAD” initiative, a comprehensive and collaborative initiative by Arizona’s education institutions, business community, and state government to reshape Arizona’s post-secondary education system and enable more residents to successfully attain a college degree. From 2005 to 2009, Dr. Glasper served with (then) governor Janet Napolitano as co-chair of the P-20 (Pre-kindergarten through graduate school) Council. Nationally, Dr. Glasper has served as a member of the National Commission on Higher Education Attainment, convened by the six presidential-level higher-education national associations to assess the need for improved college retention and attainment and to chart a course for improvement. In 2012, he was appointed to the Homeland Security Academic Advisory Council, comprised of prominent university presidents and academic leaders charged with advising the secretary and senior leadership at the department on several key issues.

Kwang-Wu Kim, D.M.A.

Dr. Kim is the tenth president in the 125-year history of the college. Appointed by a unanimous vote of the board of trustees, President Kim has served in this capacity since July 1, 2013. A native Chicagoan with over thirty years of experience as a performer, teacher, and administrator, president Kim is an outspoken advocate for the arts and a proponent of expanding the role of creative practice in society, and he is deeply committed to preparing students to act as creative agents in society. Prior to becoming Columbia’s president, Dr. Kim was dean and director of the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University, which is comprised of the schools of art; arts, media, and engineering; dance; design; music; and theatre and film, as well as the ASU Art Museum. As dean and director, he led a faculty and staff of 500, serving over 5,000 students, and held a tenured professorship in the School of Music. While at Arizona State University, he led the development and creation of a new cross-disciplinary BA in Digital Culture, securing $20 million in private support to fund the initiative.

Elizabeth Ortiz

Elizabeth joined DePaul University in 2002 and is currently vice president of institutional diversity and equity. Prior to her work at DePaul, she was director of affirmative action, diversity, and employee relations at Northern Illinois University. Her college and university experience spans over thirty years in both the public and private sector, including the Chicago community college system. She has worked on diversity initiatives in several areas including recruitment, retention, training, programming, and climate issues for diverse students, faculty, and staff. Elizabeth also has worked extensively in issues of higher education and in particular in raising awareness for Latino students, educators, community representatives and others who are committed to Latino representation and advancement in all aspects of higher education. She is a sought-after consultant, lecturer, and workshop presenter on diversity issues and best practices. Her professional service includes community and professional boards that emphasize multiculturalism as well as recruitment and retention initiatives for diverse student and workforce populations. LaCoya Shelton-Johnson, M.A., SPHR, HCS

LaCoya is a dynamic human resources and transformational talent manager. She is a leader with sixteen years of multifaceted experience in all functional areas within human resources. LaCoya has a passion for the field of human resources and is a self-proclaimed lifelong learner with a personal commitment to the successful delivery of educational opportunities and public services to the citizens of Arizona. Prior to joining Maricopa, LaCoya served as chief HR officer with the Arizona Department of Administration where she provided leadership for the delivery of a full range of HR/OD services to approximately seventy state agencies, boards, and commissions employing approximately 11,000 employees. LaCoya is certified as both a senior professional in human resources (SPHR) and human capital strategist (HCS). She is in the dissertation phase of her PhD in Organization and Human Capital Management.

Steve Herndon

As the assistant dean of students, Steve supports the dean of students in advocating for students’ academic and personal success. In particular, Steve serves as a member of the Division of Student Development’s Campus Awareness, Response and Evaluation Team (CARE), as a manager in the dean of students after-hours on-call rotation for crisis management, as a member of the university’s hearing board, and as a Title IX investigator. As the executive director of housing and residence life, Steve oversees a department that houses over 6,500 undergraduate students in traditional residence halls, apartments and over 400 university owned houses. Previously, Steve served as the assistant director of residence education for the First Year Experience at the University of Dayton, where he was responsible for the overall development of coherent and comprehensive educational programs in the first-year residential communities. Prior to Steve’s arrival at the University of Dayton, he worked in university housing at the University of Arizona and North Carolina State University. Jim Froehlich

A University of Dayton alumnus, Jim re-joined the University of Dayton in 2005 as the IT manager for dining services. In February of 2008 he was promoted to the assistant director of dining services for marketing and systems. During his tenure in dining services, Jim was instrumental in developing a number of initiatives to improve student services and authored five award-winning submissions showcasing the operations of dining services. Additionally, he designed and built a reporting infrastructure that integrated information from all dining services’ systems, thereby assisting dining services in understanding their customers’ needs better. In 2013, Jim was promoted to director of housing operations in the Department of Housing and Residence Life at the University of Dayton. Housing Operations is responsible for generating more than $47 million dollars in revenue during the academic year. During his tenure, Jim streamlined the transitional housing process, implemented numerous policies and practices to improve security in the residence halls and oversaw the integration of conference services into the housing operations work flow.

Danielle Page

Danielle Page has served in her role since 2013. Her primary areas of responsibility include the development, implementation, and management of the department’s AVIATE program, which includes the residential curriculum and its alignment with the housing assignments process. In addition to this role, Danielle serves as the adviser for the Department of Housing and Residence Life’s recruitment, training, and selection processes for undergraduate staff, as well as training processes for graduate and professional staff. Prior to serving in the role as coordinator for co-curricular learning, Danielle was an area coordinator at the University of Dayton and worked in first-year, sophomore, and upper-division areas of residence. She has served as a disciplinary hearing officer, Title IX support person, and dean of students administrator on-call on behalf of the dean of students office. In recent years, Danielle has overseen the formation of Designed Learning Experiences (DLEs) which provides sophomore students the opportunity to select into themed living communities that can connect their co-curricular experience to their honors program, substance-free living, and/or servant leadership experience. Before joining the University of Dayton in 2011, Danielle served for two years as a residence coordinator at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
