Dr. Brock serves at Rio Salado College, the largest in headcount of the ten Maricopa Community Colleges, and the largest public online community college in the nation. Rio Salado serves more than 41,000 online students annually. Dr. Brock was appointed to her position in 2011 after serving as the college’s interim vice president and, previously, dean of enrollment management. In her current role, Dr. Brock plans, organizes, and directs the student affairs and institutional advancement division. She is a prominent advocate for student success in higher education. For the last fifteen years, she has led in the development, oversight, and transformation of major student affairs initiatives on a local and national level, created transformational approaches to managing a high-volume online student services model, and forged innovative alliances and partnerships with educational providers while working for Rio Salado College.
William A. Brown received a bachelor of science degree in Education from Northeastern University with a concentration in Human Services. He earned his masters and doctorate from Claremont Graduate University in Organizational Psychology. Prior to joining Texas A&M University, he was an assistant professor at Arizona State University where he worked as the program coordinator of their certificate in nonprofit management and leadership and was an affiliated faculty member with the Center for Nonprofit Leadership & Management. He has worked with numerous organizations in the direct provision of services, consulting, and board governance. Will served as senior research fellow with BoardSource, presenting at their annual Leadership Forum and assisting with the Governance Index project. He just finished six years of service on the board of the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA).
Susan E. Pyron has direct responsibility for the alumni association’s board of directors and oversight of the annual giving, athletic giving, alumni relations, and parent relations offices focusing on constituent engagement and securing current operations support. Previously, Susan was the executive director of the Commission on the Future, a project that engaged nearly 400 alumni, parents, and friends in a year-long study that formed the foundation of Gettysburg College’s former $100M campaign. Gettysburg College recently completed a successful $160 million comprehensive campaign.
Dr. Richtermeyer has many years of experience in industry and 25+ years in higher education with over 15 years of continuous and progressive leadership roles. Prior to her current position, she was Associate Dean, Chair of Accountancy, Director and Professor of Accountancy at the Williams College of Business at Xavier University. She also served as the university Director of Faculty Programs for Mission and Identity at Xavier. Prior to her roles at Xavier, she as on the faculty at the University of Wyoming. Dr. Richtermeyer has been actively engaged as a leader in many academic and professional organizations including Global Chair for the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), Chair of the board for the Ohio Society of CPAs and as a member of the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO). She is currently a member of the Internal Control Advisory Board for the United Nations and is an active volunteer with the American Accounting Association, where she has also held numerous leadership positions. In his current role, Tim oversees the Regional Programs, International Programs, and Diversity Programs, as well as the Cornell Silicon Valley program, Admissions Relations, Affinity Programming, and the Cornell Entrepreneur Network. Prior to joining Cornell University, Tim was at Syracuse University where he was the assistant dean of External Relations for the College of Visual and Performing Arts and executive director of Alumni Relations. Tim established the first ever board of advisors for the college. In addition he was responsible for over two million in additional gifts to the college. Tim also developed an arts engagement initiative in regions throughout the country. Tim received the 2004 CASE Rising Star Award for his work with the Syracuse University College of Visual and Performing Arts.
Dr. Denley has served as provost and vice president for Academic and Student Affairs since January 2009. Originally from Penzance, England, Dr. Denley held positions in Sweden, Canada, and the University of Mississippi before coming to Austin Peay. At Ole Miss, he served as chair of Mathematics before assuming the role of senior fellow of the Residential College. Throughout his career, he has taken a hands-on approach in a variety of initiatives for student success. In 2007, he was chosen as a Redesign Scholar by the National Center for Academic Transformation for his work in rethinking the teaching of freshmen mathematics classes. He is now involved in exploring the ideas of course redesign in a variety of disciplines, both at Austin Peay and at institutions across the country.
Suzanne Petrusch is honored to have joined Presbyterian College in June of 2016. For the past 12 years, she served as the Vice President for Enrollment Management at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, where she oversaw the Offices of Admission, including Graduate & Adult Enrollment Services; Financial Assistance; Enrollment Marketing; and Student Retention. She focused on organizational change, professional development, data-driven enrollment strategies, marketing and communication, and the strategic use of financial aid in order to achieve transformation. Among markers of the division’s success, Suzanne notes the 28 percent increase in the size of the first-year class, the first enactment of a deposit wait list, and improvements in persistence of first-generation students. Further, the University realized a gain of 18.2% in the four-year graduation rate within 10 years. Suzanne’s move to San Antonio followed 15 years of progressive responsibility at the University of Dayton where she served as the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management. Ashley Hennigan is a community manager and communication strategist based in upstate New York. She is assistant director of social media strategy at Cornell University serving Alumni Affairs and Development. Prior to joining the social media team at Cornell, Ashley spent more than five years in Enrollment Management and Career Services at Rochester Institute of Technology. Ashley speaks about college admissions, communication and media technologies, and higher ed web strategy at regional and national conferences including NACAC, NYSACAC, HighEdWeb, PSUweb, Academic Impressions, .eduguru Summit, and others.
In her current position, Dawn forms collaborative relationships to provide international and domestic students with customized instruction and services that result in the attainment of concrete communication skills. Recognized as a leader in using technology to create engaging and student-centered learning environments, the ELIP program serves fully matriculated graduate and undergraduate students in credit-bearing courses on academic and professional writing, critical reading and analysis, and professional speaking. In addition to having taught these courses, Dawn has taught a variety of levels of English internationally and is heavily involved in ESL/EFL teacher training and faculty professional development. International conferences and workshops, curriculum development projects, and program assessments have taken her to countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. With a PhD in instructional technology and an MA in linguistics, Dawn’s research interests include intercultural communication, second language writing, and technology and learning.
In his ten years in the field of online learning, Dr. Dowden has founded a Division of Accelerated Learning and an Office of Distance Learning responsible for faculty professional development, online program planning and implementation, and instructional technology upgrades and acquisitions. As executive director of the Center for Adult Learning in Louisiana (CALL) from 2007 to 2013, he led a consortium of eleven public college and university member institutions, which provided twenty-nine online accelerated degree programs. Under Luke’s leadership, CALL has garnered state and national recognition for its use of four core strategies to serve adults. Luke is a member of the WCET Steering Committee and serves as a co-chair of its Academic Integrity and Student Authentication Task Force.
