Bill Smith

Think Ahead, LLC is a developer of college financial planning software based in Portland, Maine. Think Ahead’s flagship product, College Aid Calculator (CAC) is an HEOA-compliant alternative Net Price Calculator customized for individual colleges. CAC includes college-specific customized needs analysis and need- and merit-based packaging, accurate FM and/or IM EFC calculations, comprehensive help messages to guide users, college branding, and printable reports. He graduated from Williams College and has an MBA from Northwestern University.

Andrew Careaga

A veteran blogger and social media junkie, Andrew contributes to Missouri S&T’s research blog, Visions (visions.mst.edu), and blogs frequently on his personal site, Higher Ed Marketing (highered.prblogs.org). He also is involved in coordinating the university’s social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Andrew’s professional involvement includes service with CASE (the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) as chair of CASE District VI (1998-2000) and a three-year term on the CASE Communications and Marketing Commission (2002-2005). He also served on the CASE Commission on Opportunity and Equity from 1994-96.

Elizabeth Gallant

Beth joined Georgia Tech’s development office at the conclusion of a $700 million capital campaign and was charged with developing a comprehensive, donor-focused stewardship program. A decade later, she has built a proven program for stewarding the institution’s 2,500 major individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Prior to her current role, Beth served as the director of donor relations at Georgia State University and Colorado State University, where she spent over 10 years coordinating high-profile events. Beth is also a frequent national conference speaker and consultant for nonprofit organizations.

Kimberly J. Novak

Kim’s primary responsibilities involve the oversight and development of a team that will lead Student Conduct Programs, Student Affairs Risk Management, High Risk Behavior Education, Student Advocacy Services, Crisis intervention and Response, and Parent & Family Connections/Communications for the new campus. Prior to joining the ASU community, Kim worked at Texas A&M University, where she led the implementation of the University’s proactive risk management plan for student organizations.

Adam Goldstein

Adam has responsibility for Student Rights and Responsibilities, Greek Life, Withdrawal Services, and supporting students experiencing medical and mental health crises. He has been in student affairs administration for 18 years and has worked at both private and public institutions. After the Florida Legislature passed the country’s toughest hazing law in the summer of 2005, Adam coordinated a community coalition to improve FSU’s hazing education efforts and reduce the potential for emotional and physical harm caused by hazing. The coalition’s efforts resulted in the creation of http://hazing.fsu.edu/, Florida State University’s central location for educational resources, policies, and information about hazing.

Julie A. Peterson

Julie is responsible for communicating the University of Chicago’s distinctive achievements locally, nationally, and internationally. She serves as a member of the leadership cabinet and advises the president and other senior officers on a broad range of internal and external communications. Before joining the University of Chicago, Julie served in a variety of capacities at the University of Michigan, where she was involved in the university’s defense of its admissions policies, managing all of the media and web communications leading up to and immediately following the Supreme Court rulings in June 2003

Elizabeth Dollhopf-Brown

Responsible for managing Rochester’s prospecting and data mining efforts, Elizabeth previously served as director of prospect analysis and research at Marquette University. At Marquette, she was responsible for leading the transformation of the department from a reactive support function into a fully integrated and proactive unit working as a strategic partner with campaign planning staff, senior management and development officers. Before assuming that role, Elizabeth focused her professional efforts on annual giving, including serving as director of the Marquette Fund.

Holly Hamilton

In her current role, Holly oversees all development strategic projects and prospect research at Marquette. Before this position, she directed development information, data services, research, and projects as the institution’s chief advancement information officer. Holly’s other past professional roles include development services in the health care industry along with IT consulting as a programmer project manager. A member of both APRA and CASE, she is a frequent speaker on topics related to collaborative project management and positioning research within development infrastructures.

Tamara Freeman

At the University of Notre Dame, Tammy is responsible for designing and implementing an integrated talent and learning strategy that includes recruiting, performance management, career development, and learning. In addition, she coordinates the employee engagement survey for the campus and helps leadership analyze and utilize the findings. Tammy also coordinates the human resource strategic plan and oversees the information systems for the department. Prior to joining Notre Dame in 2005, Tammy worked in manufacturing for 24 years, most recently as a vice president of administration. Her experience encompassed all aspects of human resources, including employee development, staffing, compensation and benefits, strategic planning, safety, and labor relations. Her experience also includes independent consulting with clients in the areas of career transition and recruiting. Tamara holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in industrial management.
