Following completion of an MA in community counseling at UNC Charlotte, Kelly joined the UNC Charlotte Office of Adult Students and Evening Services, where she coordinates the 49er Finish Program, a program to encourage and assist former UNC Charlotte students to return and complete their degree. Kelly advises adult and nontraditional students on general education requirements, working with students to establish career, educational, and personal goals and chart a course to achievement. Kelly is involved in planning the North Carolina Adult Education Association and NACADA Region 3 conferences, and has recently completed Distance Credentialed Counselor certification and Strong Interest Inventory certification.
Brad is an engineer, educator, and entrepreneur. As president at WorkSmart Integrated Marketing, he defines educational needs for a national audience and delivers training using online technologies, webinars, national conferences, and workshops. Brad works with a number of community colleges, four-year institutions, chambers of commerce, and small business development centers to produce eMarketing Techniques events across the nation. He has run several hundred webinars on topics such as social media, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google Analytics, and more.
In her current position, Laura directs the college’s workforce development, contract training, and outreach to business and industry. She also has served as a consultant to the Global Corporate College, a network of colleges providing training solutions for national and international business. She developed and managed the nationally recognized workforce development program “School at Work,” a program that helped more than 8,500 people in low-paying jobs at 400 hospitals in 43 states advance in the health professions by taking classes at their work site. This program won both the National Council of Instructional Administrators Workforce Development Award and the National Council for Continuing Education and Training’s Distance Learning Award. Laura is currently a co-researcher on a Met-Life funded project with the League for Innovation in the Community college studying “The Nature of Innovation in the Community College.”
Pat has extensive experience initiating and facilitating collaborative training and workforce initiatives that directly impact the regional economy. She has assisted hundreds of companies in developing and implementing comprehensive training programs in technology, quality, lean manufacturing, and management. Pat has facilitated many sessions with representatives from labor, education, and industry on identifying regional issues surrounding skill sets, dislocated workers, and emerging jobs. She has consulted with the Federal Department of Labor, sits on the Suffolk County Workforce Investment Board and Education and Training Committee, and has participated in numerous meetings and forums regarding regional agendas in training and job creation. Pat works closely with the Empire State Development Corporation, the New York State Department of Labor, the community colleges, the state education department, local business associations, and three workforce investment boards.
Tracy managed strategic learning projects for the associate vice president of learning resources and innovation at the University of Waterloo, a position that included introducing electronic portfolios to the campus in a number of programs, including Accounting and Financial Management, History, Co-operative Education, and Residence Life. Tracy’s ongoing research focuses on e-portfolio implementation and the ability for reflection in e-portfolios to transform the student experience. Tracy also co-authored with Helen Chen the monograph Electronic Portfolios and Student Success: Effectiveness, Efficiency, and Learning, published by the Association of American Colleges and Universities. Tracy also sits on the Board of Directors for the Association for Authentic, Experiential and Evidence-Based Learning (AAEEBL).
