Aarti Dhupelia

Aarti oversees the Harrison Professional Pathways Program, an innovative undergraduate degree program designed to close the achievement gap in higher education by offering students affordability, strong individualized support, and a personalized and professionally focused curriculum. Prior to joining NLU, Aarti spent 8 years in senior leadership roles at Chicago Public Schools, most recently serving as CPS’ Chief Officer for the Office of College and Career Success, where she drove strategies around attendance and truancy, drop-out re-engagement, out-of-school time, social and emotional learning, college and career planning, and early college and career acceleration coursework. Before joining CPS, Aarti spent several years as a management consultant to Fortune 500 companies at Marakon Associates. Aarti holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University, and she is an alumna of the Broad Residency in Urban Education program.

Dr. Joshua Jacobs

Dr. Jacobs and his team focus on developing relationships and creating links between the passions of alumni and friends with the mission of Marietta College. Jacobs has oversight of the annual fund, corporate and foundation relations, prospect research, major gifts, planned giving, comprehensive and capital campaigns, and alumni and constituent relations. Jacobs previously served as Vice President for Advancement at Central Methodist University and as Chief of Staff to Murray State University President Randy J. Dunn. As Chief of Staff he was responsible for the daily operations of the institution and worked closely with campus constituency groups to advance the mission of the institution

Dr. Beth Stroble

Dr. Elizabeth (Beth) J. Stroble was named the 11th President of Webster University in 2009. During her tenure, Webster University, a global institution with a network of campus locations around the world based in Webster Groves, has solidified its reputation as a truly global university. The University expanded into Africa and Greece and has built partnerships with communities and institutions around the world. Dr. Stroble has focused attention locally as well, with the opening of the Gateway Campus in the Arcade Building in downtown St. Louis, and breaking ground for a new Interdisciplinary Science Building on its Webster Groves campus, which will open in 2017.

Valerie Cushman

Valerie brings over 30 years of higher education experience to this work. Her career began at Vassar College where she was a member of the faculty and associate director of athletics. In 1997 she moved to Virginia and Randolph College where she served as the director of athletics and chair of physical education for most of her 10-year tenure but served as the special assistant to the president through the co-education transition. In 2007, she took on the role of senior assistant to the president at Washington and Lee University. Following that she worked as a consultant for her own company, Cushman Curry Consulting, and for Cenergistic, Inc. an energy conservation firm that works with schools and colleges. Throughout her career her academic and professional work has focused on access to education and equity and opportunity for women, particularly as it relates to Title IX and athletics. Her educational background includes a B.S. in physical education from SUNY Cortland, an M.S. in sport management from East Stroudsburg University, and a Ph.D. in higher education and cultural foundations of education from Syracuse University.

Amanda Mesirow

Amanda Mesirow serves as the Coordinator, Code of Conduct and as a Title IX Investigator at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois. She earned her MS in Counseling and Educational Psychology from Kansas State University, and worked in residence life for over 10 years. During that time, she has served on multiple behavior intervention teams, Title IX/sexual misconduct committees, and regional professional committees. Mesirow has presented and published numerous times; most often on topics of social justice and inclusiveness, campus threat assessment and safety, and crisis management. She has completed certifications and trainings for FEMA and violent incident defense/survival training for active shooters and campus crisis management. In her current role, Mesirow develops and provides training through her office on responding to students of concern, safety protocols for faculty, staff, and students, as well as collaborating with those same groups on creating a safe campus community. Mesirow worked on large public, small private and religiously affiliated campuses before assuming her position at Moraine Valley. She also is an active member of the Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA).

Michelle Miller

Michelle Miller’s passion for supporting student success and for creating colourful, individualistic artistic pieces come together in perfect harmony. Her approach to both includes exploring new ways to communicate, collaborate and combine ideas – and the outcomes are dynamic and bold. As York University’s Strategic Enrolment Management lead, Michelle Miller is responsible for directing pan-University, transformative change guided by innovation and her dedication to student success. Michelle has successfully implemented high levels of organizational improvement through collaboration, sharing best practices and guiding data informed decision making. She has presented nationally at numerous conferences to share York’s approach to using Strategic Enrolment Intelligence to impact the student experience. In her current role, Michelle spearheads projects that support the Division’s 5-year strategic plan such as strategic enrolment management and the first-year experience with an intentional focus on providing student-centric and evidenced-based services to students. As an influencer and change agent, Michelle has worked in partnership with the Office of Institutional Planning & Analysis to connect enrolment and resource planning with institutional and Faculty-specific strategies. David A. Ellis, PhD

David joined Miami University in January of 2011. He oversees the revenue forecasting and the development and implementation of the university’s operating budget. He has led the university’s implementation of performance budgeting and business intelligence projects. Prior to joining the university David served in a variety of roles in state government focusing on budgeting, performance management and state political economy. He earned his Ph.D. from West Virginia University.

Mike Holbeck

Mike has been employed at South Dakota State University for nearly ten years and has filled various roles within the Office of Finance and Business over this time period. His current role at SDSU includes university-wide financial modeling, policy development, and financial reporting and analysis. Over the last couple of years one of his major undertakings has been helping to lead the change from a historical incremental budget model to a new Decentralized Budget Model (DBM).He has been involved in all phases of the change from the theoretical side, including the research and policy recommendation, to the implementation side, which involved redesigning their financial accounting process and developing reports and simulation tools to help drive efficiency and improve forecasting. He received bachelor degrees in mathematics and agricultural business, as well as a masters degree in economics, from SDSU. He also holds a doctoral degree in sociology with a focus on differential pricing and resource allocation in higher education.

Elyse Menger

Elyse is responsible for overseeing class gift programming, the faculty and staff annual campaign, and affinity based fundraising. She also manages over 200 volunteers annually for TCU. Elyse has worked at TCU since 2012, formerly serving as the assistant director of student and young alumni programs, where she worked on the 2014 CASE Gold award winning student philanthropy program, Count Me In!

Doris Wright Carroll

Doris Wright Carroll is Associate Professor in the College of Education’s Department of Special Education, Counseling and Student Affairs at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. She brings more than thirty years’ experience as a multicultural counselor, teacher, and educator to her appointment, a position held since 1999. Dr. Carroll teaches and conducts applied research in student affairs practice and higher education administration, with special focus in diversity issues and curriculum development. Dr. Carroll has presented national and international presentations related to academic advising and student retention and is well published in these areas. Dr. Carroll holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Kansas State University and earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1982.
