Andrea Salazar Morgan

Andrea has been a part of the Mines community for 17 years, and prior to her role in MEP, served as the Assistant Director in Undergraduate Admissions. Collaborating with various offices on campus including Women in Science, Engineering and Mathematics (WISEM), the Center for Academic Services and Advising (CASA), and the Office of Graduate Studies, she provides programming that contributes to the enrollment, retention, and graduation of students who are historically underrepresented in STEM. Andrea has served as a Mentor for Freshman Success Seminar – CSM101, and on the President’s Committee on Diversity. In 2008, she received the “CSM Connected Learning Community Award for Administrative Faculty Excellence”. Andrea is a graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in Speech Communications, and is currently pursuing a degree in International Political Economy of Resources at Colorado School of Mines.

Dr. Monique Perry

Dr. Monique Perry is an award-winning higher education administrator, leadership coach, and speaker utilizing a hybrid of leadership experiences from over a decade in the private sector and higher education arenas to support student success. Dr. Perry currently serves as Assistant VP of Enrollment Services at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina. In her current role, she serves as the College’s Chief Enrollment Officer leading five departments including Admissions, Outreach and Orientation, Financial Aid, Academic Records/Registrar, One-Stop Center & Call Center Operations, and Enrollment Data and Communications. While in this role, Dr. Perry was selected by the SC Technical College System as the statewide recipient of the A. Wade Martin Innovator of the Year Award in 2017. Most recently, she was chosen as one of 40 leaders from across the nation as a 2018-2019 Aspen Institute Presidential Fellow for Community College Excellence. Benjamin Hagan

Benjamin Hagan is the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions and has been at Oklahoma State University since early 2008. A member of the admissions leadership team, Ben has played a part enrolling a number of record-breaking classes at OSU. Ben is co-chair of the ACT State Council for Oklahoma and presents nationally on topics related to recruitment, financial aid, and management. Ben divides his leadership responsibilities between prospective student financial aid, helping define OSU’s recruitment strategies, and facilitating the relationship with Stillwater Public Schools. In his time with OSU, Ben has been responsible for the campus tour and events programing, in-state and out-of-state freshman recruitment, transfer recruitment as well as a year working remotely while recruiting in Houston, TX. Prior to joining OSU, Ben was the Senior Photography Producer for Williams-Sonoma, Inc. in San Francisco, CA working for the flagship brands Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn, among others. He gained early professional experience while coordinating guest services at a large boutique hotel in New York City. Lou Guthrie

Lou joined the National Higher Education Benchmarking Institute in 2013 and leads the management and development of the National Community College Benchmark Project (NCCBP), the National Community College Cost and Productivity Project, the Workforce Training Benchmarking Project and the newest addition to NHEBI’s portfolio, the Maximizing Resources for Student Success project, a Gates Foundation project. The Benchmarking Institute is currently collaborating with the AAUP to develop their Faculty Compensation Survey and reporting website. Dr. Guthrie is a seasoned speaker, presenting data from the benchmarking studies at numerous national and regional conferences. Previously she was President of Guthrie Research Group, Inc., a benchmarking consulting company that worked with Fortune 500 companies and international financial institutions on general services benchmarking projects. Her consulting included strategic planning, key performance indicator development, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. For the past 5 years she also served as a benchmarking consultant to the World Bank’s General Services Division. Dr. Guthrie has higher education experience as an Assistant Professor at Oregon State University, and as an Instructor at Virginia Tech and Longview College. Lou received her PhD from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg and her MS from Southern Illinois University.

Katie Mott

Katie Mott has served as Senior Admissions and Financial Aid Advisor at Iowa State University since the joint position was created five years ago (which makes for double “duties as assigned” and twice the colleagues). In her professional double-life, she has two physical offices, two phone numbers, and spends a majority of her time counseling prospective student and families about options in how pay for college. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Iowa State University.

Molly Robbins

Molly oversees the design and execution of a comprehensive annual giving strategy. She has over a decade of experience working with leadership giving programs, Telefund, volunteer programs, direct marketing, social media, and events. In addition to her work in the office, she also launched the Philadelphia Annual Giving Workshop Series through a CASE Venture Capital Grant. She holds a Masters in Organizational Leadership and Development from Saint Joseph’s University and a Bachelors in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dawn Ohanessian

Dawn Ohanessian is currently the Director of Residence Life at Bridgewater College, a small, private liberal arts college in Bridgewater, Virginia. In July 2016, Bridgewater College live-in professional staff made the switch to non-exempt staff as specified by the FLSA, becoming one of the first colleges in the country to make this change. This experience has led to many learning experiences, professional discussions, and an upcoming presentation on FLSA at the Virginia Student Services Conference (VSSC) in November. Dawn has previously worked in Residence Life at Seton Hall University, LaSalle University, the University of Georgia, and Elizabethtown College. She served on the Leadership Council of the Mid-Atlantic Association of College and University Housing Officers (MACUHO) from 2010 to 2013, and attended the National Housing Training Institute (NHTI) is 2009. Dawn has presented at state, regional, and national conferences on topics ranging from Student Development Theory to Successfully Working with Parents. Dawn received her Master’s degree in College Student Affairs Administration from the University of Georgia and her Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University. She lives in Harrisonburg, Virginia with her husband and five year old daughter.

Dr. Brent Paterson

Brent Paterson has served in leadership roles at Illinois State University since 2001, and currently serves as Assistant to the President. His career in higher education spans more than 35 years holding positions in admissions, residence life, student conduct, and student affairs administration at four universities. Prior to becoming Assistant to the President, Brent served as Interim Vice President for Student Affairs and Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Illinois State University. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Educational Administration and Foundations, teaching courses in the college student personnel administration program. Brent spent 17 years in administrative roles at Texas A&M University, including serving as Dean of Student Life. Brent has been active in NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, the Association for Student Conduct Affairs (ASCA), and the Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SACSA). In 2015, Brent was named a Pillar of the Profession by NASPA for sustained professional distinction in higher education. He also is a recipient of the D. Parker Young Award from ASCA for outstanding scholarly and research contributions in the area of higher education law. Jennifer McDuffie

Jennifer McDuffie has over 10 years of experience in higher education, where she served in multiple leadership roles at the University of Colorado Boulder, University of Denver, and Mississippi State University. In her current role, Jennifer is responsible for the transition of all incoming students and their families to the University through an online orientation, optional summer programming, and an extensive Fall Welcome program offered through the first few weeks of the semester. Prior to her role as Director of New Student & Family Programs, Jennifer served as the Director of the Leeds Scholars Program and Honors Experience, which selected the top undergraduate business students to participate in honors and leadership programs and she was the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions overseeing all recruitment, selection, and outreach for undergraduate students at the University of Colorado Boulder. Jennifer earned a B.S. in Family Studies and Psychology from Mississippi University for Women and M.Ed. in Counselor Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Mississippi State University.

Kristen Ingels

In her current role, Kristen focuses on developing and managing branding and integrated marketing strategies. Previously with the University of California, Kristen served as the day-to-day lead for marketing and advertising campaigns in support of the UC System brand. From managing strategic digital and social media marketing to advertising, grassroots outreach, event development, and market research, she focused on advancing broad public outreach and awareness of UC. Kristen started her career with two of the top worldwide PR firms (Burson-Marsteller and FleishmanHillard), where she provided communications support for a roster of high-profile, multinational companies including Autodesk, Visa, and Hewlett-Packard.
