Eric received his MLS from Drexel University in 2012, and began working at the Penn Libraries Education Commons when it opened immediately thereafter. The Education Commons is entering its 3rd year of operation and serves students, faculty, and academic groups from across Penn’s campus. Eric’s responsibilities involve every aspect of running a library commons space: promotion and marketing of the Commons throughout campus, developing library-specific programming and partnering with other campus initiatives and programs to provide additional services for students and faculty, and maintaining the daily functioning of the Commons. The impact of space on services has been an area of interest for Eric as the space within the Commons itself as well as its location on campus created unique needs and demands for both ensuring the smooth operation of the space and providing for its future, and he presented a poster at ACRL 2013 on the impact of space on libraries and services.
Nicole Lentine has been working in the field of admissions for over seven years; for over half of that time, her responsibilities have also focused on social media in recruitment. In her current position at Champlain College, Nicole oversees the bulk of all social sites where prospective students can interact with her institution. She also facilitates a task force of student ambassadors who maintain their own social presence in support of the school. During her tenure in admissions, Nicole has presented on the topic of social media in recruitment at a variety of local, regional, and national conferences. She is also the co-host of Admissions Live, a biweekly web show focused on trends in enrollment and featuring many experts in the field.
Lindsay Nyquist has held continually evolving positions during her time at Fort Lewis College, a small public four-year institution in Durango, Colorado. She now oversees the Marketing & Communications Department, including web, social media, video, design, writing, and community and media relations. However, her passion is social media education—empowering college constituents and community members to use social media confidently and strategically.She holds a BA in English, communication, and art and an MS in higher education administration and enrollment.
Michal Shaw has over ten years of experience in higher education fundraising that includes research, prospect management, marketing, donor relations, gift administration, compliance, and stewardship. In her current role she oversees the administration and stewardship of university-wide scholarship programs, the endowment, impact reports, and acknowledgements. Other responsibilities include the oversight of processes related to the creation and completion of donor agreements. Michal is a member of CASE and is serving as faculty for the 2015 CASE Annual Conference for Donor Relations Professionals. Michal is also an active member of the Association of Donor Relations Professionals (ADRP), and serves on the ADRP board of directors.
Originally from Venezuela, Ale Sosa graduated from Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio with a Bachelor in Business Administration. In 2007, she completed her Master’s Degree in Business Administration. During her time at Tiffin University, Ale served as the Admissions Representative for all the northwest, Ohio and international students. Later on she relocated to Cincinnati where she continued to work for Tiffin University as the Online Degree Completion Admissions Director. In 2008, Ale joined Florida Southern College as Associate Director of Admissions. While at FSC, she was involved in the creation of financial aid training for admissions counselors, implemented their current CRM software, served on the senior strategic planning team, was responsible for the maintenance and creation of communication flows, and admissions operations. During her tenure at Florida Southern College, the institution broke enrollment records. In 2012, Ale joined Mercer University as the Director of Undergraduate Admissions. In her short two and a half year tenure, her team has implemented recruitment and financial aid strategies that have resulted in the enrollment of the largest- 25% growth in two years- and most academically talented freshman classes in Mercer’s history.
Melissa has fifteen years of experience on a broad range of projects focusing on academic facilities at undergraduate institutions. She has been responsible for strategic planning, programming, design implementation, engineering coordination, managing the production of construction documents, and construction administration. Her portfolio includes work at the University of Maryland, College Park; Northern Virginia Community College; American University; SUNY Maritime College; and Rollins College. She is currently working with The College of New Jersey and Carleton College as an academic and lab planner. As the project architect for the Bush Science Center at Rollins College, Melissa led the design team from early programming through design and construction on this complex renovation and addition project. Her relationships with the entire design team and client ensured effective collaboration and communication from project beginning to end.
Erin Stringer is the Director of Reunion Giving at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. With a background deeply rooted in fostering alumni connections and engagement, Erin has played pivotal roles in higher education advancement. Prior to her current position, Erin served as the Director of Alumni and Parent Relations at Catawba College in Salisbury, NC, her alma mater, where she cultivated strong relationships within the college community. Erin’s dedication to young alumni engagement is underscored by her tenure as the Associate Director of Young Alumni Programs at Gettysburg College. There, she spearheaded initiatives to establish and manage a volunteer board of young alumni, facilitating meaningful interactions between the college and its recent graduates. Her work extended beyond the board to encompass the entire young alumni population, enhancing their connection to and support for Gettysburg College. Before transitioning to higher education, Erin honed her skills on Capitol Hill, where she served as a press aide and a clerk in the House of Representatives. Ms. King-Griswold’s areas of responsibility include financial management policy development, management of relationships with banking institutions, management of operating cash investment managers and other treasury services providers, planning and management of the university’s cash management programs, cash forecasting, participation in long-term debt issuance, internal debt administration, PCI and debt compliance; management of leasing programs and treasury financial risk management. Ms. King-Griswold is a certified treasury professional and a certified business manager. she holds an MS in finance from William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester, an MA in business and policy studies and a BS in accounting from SUNY Empire State College, and an AA from Eastern Nazarene College. Ms. King-Griswold is pursuing an Ed. at Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester. She is a part-time adjunct faculty at SUNY Empire State College. She has previously held positions as treasury manager for Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. and as treasurer/controller for Sugar Creek Stores, Inc.
In her current position Nancy Majerek works with the university’s domestic and international banks, managing the treasury products and services they provide to the university. Nancy oversees daily cash positioning, oversees short-term borrowing and investments, and works closely with departments to lead projects that create efficiencies, save money, and promote sustainability. She has streamlined the university’s banking structure, implemented services to improve operational efficiency and provide for optimum investment potential, and developed a cash model to analyze historical cash transactions and to project cash balances allowing for improved planning and investment. She is a certified treasury professional and is active with the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP), the Big Ten Treasury Managers Group, and the Treasury Institute for Higher Education. Nancy held positions in commercial lending and cash management at 1st Source Bank before joining Notre Dame as an employee.
Stephen has held his current position since 2009. In this role, Stephen leads a portfolio that includes the Office of Corporate Engagement, Corporate and Professional Education, and the Career Development Center at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He has been a member of the president’s senior leadership team since 2006. Stephen’s primary focus is on developing, fostering, and managing strategic relationships with industry in a comprehensive manner that spans multiple interests across academic disciplines while also delivering long-term, measurable outcomes.
