Aric has worked in higher education for eighteen years for both private and public universities. Over the past ten years he has developed and implemented competency-based programs for delivery in the United States and in international markets. Aric leads cross-functional teams to transform academic programs for various delivery formats while also transforming the operational and support functions of the university. As an economist, Aric studies markets as they evolve and transform over time, with a current focus on higher education. He has consulted with national and international firms to answer strategic questions.
Sally is the vice president for academic advancement at Western Governors University, an online competency-based education institution. She is working with a dozen colleges across the U.S. assisting them in developing their own CBE programs. Prior to joining WGU, Sally was the provost and vice president for academic affairs at Winona State University. She also spent almost two decades at the executive director of WCET at the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). Sally continues to work on issues of higher education policy, quality assurance, competency-based education, and open and distance learning. She serves on the U.S. National Commission for the United Nations Educational, Scientific Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the editorial boards for Change magazine and the Journal of Open, Distance and e-Learning (UK). She has written dozens of articles, books, and reports on issues of integrating information and communication technology into academics.
Janet oversees the Office of Adult Students and Evening Services (OASES) at UNC Charlotte, which is designed to enhance student success. She also works collaboratively with academic units to provide the 49er Finish program, re-entry programs, advising, scholarships, a mentoring program, newsletters, and two honor societies for adults on campus. In addition to internal relationships, Janet oversees OASES work with external organizations to promote the mission of OASES and develop scholarships for adult students. In addition to her present work with academic programs, Janet enhances learning opportunities for professionals and students by hosting and presenting at national and regional conferences for UNC Charlotte. She coordinated a recent adult learner conference sponsored by UNC Charlotte, the Charlotte Area Education Consortium, and the North Carolina Adult Education Association; and she assisted in coordinating the 2012 Region 3 NACADA Conference in Charlotte. Barbara is responsible for the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Institutional Analysis, Intercollegiate Athletics, Communications and Marketing, and Government and Community Relations. Previously, Barbara served as Vice President for Enrollment Management at Goucher College in Baltimore, MD where she built an enrollment management program and assisted Goucher through the transition to coeducational. She began her career at Drexel University as Dean of Admissions, managing admission programs for undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education. A frequent speaker on enrollment management related issues, Barbara is active in numerous professional and civic organizations.
Dan is responsible for financial planning and budget development, accounting and business services, financial reporting, investment portfolio oversight, treasury and debt management, facilities planning and operations, and auxiliary services. Prior to arriving at Gettysburg College, Dan served as Vice President for Finance and Administration at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY. He also served as Controller and Director of Budgets at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, and as Senior Audit Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Syracuse, NY.
Scott has been in the entertainment and event production business for 31 years. He worked for Anheuser Busch Theme parks for 19 years, and then moved on to Baylor University as the Executive Director of Constituent Engagement Productions. While at Baylor he earned his MBA and then in 2011 was thrilled to accept the position of Executive Director of Programs and Special Events at the University of Pennsylvania. His initial focus at Penn was to create a range of world-class memorable experiences to commemorate the conclusion of the Making History Campaign.
Cindy is the founding director of the University of South Florida’s new Summer Institute as the university implements a plan to enhance its summer education offerings and experiences. Previously, Cindy was the associate vice provost of enrollment management and services at North Carolina State University where she provided strategic vision, leadership, and direction for all aspects of summer sessions, Joyner Visitor Center, new student orientation, and parents and families services. Under her leadership the university’s summer sessions have undergone a transformation to a student-centered, college-led model that continuously examines how student success might be enhanced by strategically building summer into the university’s overall approach to academics. Over the course of her career, Cindy has been an officer in the state, regional, and national summer sessions organizations. She is currently the immediate past president of the North American Association of Summer Sessions. She holds a doctorate in educational leadership from East Carolina University.
Mark has the privilege of working with higher education clientele across the country to address a variety of risk management and safety-related issues. This includes managing the risks associated with minors on campus, developing effective enterprise risk management (ERM) programs, addressing property and liability issues, and much more. Mark served ten years as the risk manager for the University of Illinois and as the first chief risk officer of Ohio State University. In these roles, he had the opportunity to work with professionals across the campuses and throughout the community to develop many effective risk management programs. Mark has been a consistent contributor on the development of higher education programming sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and others. He is a frequent and passionate speaker at higher education conferences across the country and serves as an adjunct faculty member at Illinois State University.
As a former provost, Dr. Seidelman supported the full range of opportunities for student learning, coordinated the College’s efforts to develop innovative program designs and pedagogy, provided leadership for all academic divisions and educational resources of the college, student development (residential and student life, student services, and intercollegiate athletics) and information resources (academic and administrative computing, library, and institutional research). Dr. Seidelman has provided leadership in Westminster’s development of 4 CBE programs. Prior to his appointment as Provost, Seidelman served as Director of the Economics Program, Director of the MBA Program and Dean of the Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business. Dr. Seidelman was formerly a Commissioner for the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and served as Chair of the Commission. In addition to a number of consulting and expert witness engagements, his research interests focus on international trade issues, trade agreements, development economics and innovation and change in higher education.
Karen is best known for her work in facilitating organizational transformations at all levels of UC Davis. These change efforts involved designing and implementing an administrative shared services center, leading strategic planning efforts to improve ailing operations, assessing human factors in change, creating stronger connections between customer requirements and resource redeployment, and developing action plans to bring about sustained operational improvements. During her twenty-four years at UC Davis, Karen has held leadership roles in both administrative and academic units, including positions as the associate vice chancellor of human resources, associate vice chancellor of business services and UCDE department chair of Business, Technology & Engineering. Most recently, she rose to the challenge of leading the two-year initiative that restructured administrative functions for HR, finance, and payroll, culminating in the implementation of the Shared Services Center. She has completed extensive training in organizational development, change management and facilitation. She is also an instructor in the UC Davis Executive Program, Staff Development & Professional Services, and WACUBO’s Business Managers Institute.
