Dave Steadman

Dave joined the Alumni & Development Office at St. Albans School in Washington, DC, in 2010. As Executive Director, he sets the strategy and manages the operations for the School’s Annual Giving (AG) and Alumni Relations programs. Working with a team of talented development professionals and volunteers, Dave’s work focuses on two primary objectives: sustainably growing the School’s $2.3+ million AG effort, and supporting new and existing programs to encourage active alumni involvement in the life of the School. Prior to St. Albans, he worked in the Communications & Development Office at Hamilton College (his alma mater), managing the regional event and senior gift programs before going on to serve as the College’s first Director of Young Alumni Giving. The young alumni position provided an opportunity to experiment with a variety of strategies to increase the engagement and generosity of recent graduates, the results of which increased the philanthropic support of recent graduates by nearly 20% over 3 years. In addition to his work at St. Albans, Dave frequently presents at professional development conferences. He received a B.A. in Music and English from Hamilton College.

Kary Delaria

Kary Delaria is a principal at Kane Consulting, a firm that helps companies use social media and other digital technologies to improve their marketing, communications, sales, and customer service. The firm has worked extensively with higher education admissions and recruitment departments to develop social media strategies to meet departmental and institutional goals. Kary has led workshops and training seminars for The University of Minnesota Communicators Forum, The University of Minnesota Extension, and The Lawlor Group’s Summer Seminar conference for higher education enrollment management and admissions professionals. Kary is adjunct faculty for Concordia University in St. Paul, MN.

Jessica Neno Cloud, CFRE

Jessica has held the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation since 2013 and has worked in fundraising for over 20 years. She has worked for the Libertarian National Committee, RuffaloCODY (now Ruffalo Noel Levitz), the University of South Carolina, the University of Southern Mississippi, and Starr King School for the Ministry. Through her consulting work, she has also closely advised Samford University and the University of Alabama. She maintains her blog, Real Deal Fundraising, posting weekly on Thursdays. When she worked for her alma mater, The University of Southern Mississippi, in one year, she increased the total dollars raised by over 300%, and in three years, she increased the number of first-time donors by 285%. During her tenure, the total number of yearly donors to the USM Foundation increased from about 3,000 to over 8,000. Her boss there nicknamed her the “Tasmanian Devil of Fundraising”. She is also an AI author, with her book, Successful Fundraising Calls: A Phonathon Scripting Workshop.

Shana Weber

Dr. Weber directs the Office of Sustainability and is periodic lecturer in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Princeton University. She has coordinated university efforts in comprehensive campus-based sustainability study and implementation since 2006. Shana has conducted research on the intersection of climate change impacts and land use history, population biology of culturally-significant wetland vegetation, and climate-change driven population dynamics of high-altitude small mammals. Prior to joining Princeton University, Shana was a founding director and faculty member for the Santa Clara University Environmental Studies Institute, and producer for a nationally-syndicated environmental radio talk show. She serves as co-chair of the Princeton Sustainability Committee, on the executive committee for NJHEPS, and on the steering committees for the NE Campus Sustainability Consortium and Ivy+ Sustainability Group. Shana received her B.S. in zoology from the Ohio State University, and MSES and her Ph.D. from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Bloomington.

Suzanne Price

Suzanne received a BA in political science from Columbia College, where her study areas of interest included women’s leadership and African and African-American culture and politics. She completed her M.Ed. in counselor education and Ph.D. in educational leadership at Clemson University. Suzanne’s professional experience has included positions in the areas of student disability services, orientation, leadership and civic engagement, student government advising, and student organization management. Suzanne currently serves as the associate director for academic initiatives in residential life at Clemson University. In this role, she oversees the university’s living-learning communities, facilitates residential curriculum development, coordinates the university’s faculty-in-residence program, and manages the department’s assessment process. Her research and professional interests include social justice, women’s development and education. Suzanne is the director of scholarship for the South Carolina College Personnel Association and is a member of the American College Personnel Association and the Association of College and University Housing Officers – International, where she serves as a reviewer for the Journal of College and University Student Housing.

Diane “DP” Roberts

Dr. Diane Porter-Roberts (better known as DP) is the associate director of housing for student learning and engagement at the University of Florida. Her responsibilities include creating residential learning communities within the residence halls at UF, enhancing the academic environment in the halls, and persuading faculty members to get more involved with students outside of their classrooms. DP serves as the director of the Student Personnel in Higher Education graduate program in the UF College of Education. She teaches Foundations and Functions of College Student Personnel, Educational Outcomes of American Colleges and Universities, and Capstone Seminar in Student Affairs, and Group Supervision for Practicum and Internship Experiences. DP also spent six years as a faculty in residence at UF. DP received her Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Florida. She is also a three-time graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, with degrees in middle school math and English, K-12 reading, and curriculum, instruction, and supervision.

Stevie Rocco

Stevie has 11 years of experience working with faculty to create and manage online learning. In her position, she creates tools and technologies to improve online course experiences. In addition, Stevie teaches courses in information sciences and technology and instructional systems. She also consults on a wide variety of topics, including faculty development for online teaching, accessibility, usability, open source/free tools, copyright and creative commons, and social media.

Kate Brodock

We are pleased to once again have Kate Brodock (@just_kate), one of our most highly rated conference speakers, back for this event. Kate Brodock leads the development of strategy and vision for campus-wide initiatives in digital and social media and works directly with marketing, public affairs, and several other constituents. Prior to her role at Syracuse, she founded and managed Other Side Group, a social media marketing and content production firm located in Boston, MA.

Keith Hannon

Keith Hannon (@KeithHannon) is tasked with managing the various Cornell alumni social network communities, producing video content for the Web, utilizing current and emerging mobile technologies for alumni events, and streaming campus and alumni events live to the Cornell alumni Facebook page. Before joining Cornell, Keith was a senior producer for Six Degrees Games in Los Angeles, CA, where he developed creative content strategies and served as senior community manager for the social gaming company.

J. David Allen

David Allen has been a stalwart member of the institutional parking community for the past 27 years. For more than 20 of those years, he has directed one of the largest and most innovative university parking and transportation operations in the country at the University of Maryland, College Park. He is responsible for the management of five parking garages totaling 5,465 parking spaces, 29 visitor pay stations, and 34 parking lots totaling more than 19,000 parking spaces for a campus community of more than 50,000. He is responsible for the transparent fiscal accountability of a $25 million annual budget and a $125 million infrastructure. Using the T2 Flex operation system, his operation issues more than 25,000 parking permits and approximately $2.5 million in parking violations. He is also responsible for managing a transit system that consists of 55 buses and over 2.6 million rides annually. Additionally, David has served as president of the Middle Atlantic Parking Association and on the board of advisors of the International Parking Institute.
